I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’ve met the coolest people at work. Last Wednesday night, on the eve of Thanksgiving if you will, while counting the minutes before I had to go home, pack, take a quick snooz and set out for an early morning five hour drive to Cali, this couple and their friend come in for tapas in the last hour. Right away, I felt a distinct and dynamic energy coming from them, particularly from the woman. Being a son of my mother, I couldn’t help but pry when I heard her speaking a Spanish, the likes of which you hear on those foreign films you watch late at night to feel good about yourself. Before they even ordered their sangria, I’d found out that her name was Romina, and that her, her husband Max and their cute little baby Joaquin, were driving from New York to Buenos Aires (two cities that I devoutly daydream about). Phoenix is somewhere close to the middle, right? They told me they were having a little trouble keeping up with their blog, I wonder if they have room for a blogger next to that baby seat in the back.
I’ve been working my little butt off lately. That’s how I feel anyway. I’ve been doing a lot of reading. A lot of writing. And that’s great, I’ve put a few more wrinkles where they belong, in my brain. Makes up for the brain cells I’ve successfully partied away. But when you indulge your creativity, it can go so many routes, and the more you discover the better. Like the Garden of Forking Paths, the possibilities are as fruitful and versatile as Sarah Palin jokes. You know, the more you know bs…
As you start exploring different topics to express through your art, you do start missing some old favorites and you want to give ’em a little stroke for old time’s sake. I miss gay. So this is just a post to remind myself, just how gay I am. I still own and operate a flatiron. I still have sex with the ‘ol boyfriend, which usually ends up being pretty gay. And lately, I’ve been getting a little homo-neurotic action on the side, and I must say I’ve been getting into it. So I thought I’d share some of it with the proverbial you guys.
Oh and, on not so gay related matters I have a new Hump Day article up I’d like some comment love (or hate?) on.
Thanks, but no thanks, Mayan prophecy.
